My last week in Language UK

My taks are :
-Sort out the books of the professors
-Create the files of welcome for the new students
- Make the program of the various activities proposed by the school for weeks to come
- Prepare and serve the coffee to the students during their break
- Fill an index form listing the name, the address, the phone number, ... upon the arrival of new student
- Make posters for the activities


It was a very good experience so personal as professional.

My last week of training

Hello to all !

For my last week of training, I finished the website ! In english and in french !

For my part, it was a great experience and it was very interesting to participate in the development of 
B & B's.

My tasks for my last week

Monday, June 23, 2014 : I worked at the front desk receptionist with Natalie, the Duty Manager. I helped a little in the kitchen. I lay the tables, clear the tables, and wash the glasses and pitchers. I entered the information of a client that is written on the sheet "Accommodation Booking Form”. I make a payment by credit card. I make payment confirmation in the computer software called ADS. I distributed the brochures of the hotel guests. I put a letter of confirmation Accommodation adding brochures and invoice hotel in an envelope I wrote the address and I stuck a stamp. I record the day's mail in the book "post 2014". I welcomed the guests to the hotel. I take the  customer’s orders to the kitchen. By late afternoon I had more work then I worked on my communication form.

Tuesday, June 24, 2014 : I worked at the front desk receptionist with Miss Zoë. I send two confirmation emails. My tutor Zoé and I took a bouquet of flowers and two boxes of chocolates to the room of a couple who is getting married. I started to create my slideshow for my exhibit Friday.
The afternoon I worked at the front desk receptionist with Natalie, the Duty Manager : I distribute brochures at the hotel on the tables for a group of people (12 people) for a visit the museum of the hotel and they had a cream tea. I put a letter of confirmation Accommodation adding brochures and invoice hotel in an envelope I wrote the address and I stuck a stamp. I lay the tables, clear the tables. I took pictures to illustrate my internship report. I recorded the day's mail in the book "post 2014". I welcomed the guests to the hotel. I take the customer’s orders to the kitchen. I distributed the brochures of the hotel guests. The Walpole Bay Hotel has an online booking system where people book and pay. The hotel receives the accounts. I therefore need to take all the correct invoices out of the folder and put them into a pile to match with the invoice. They take a percentage of the money that the guests pay online.

Wednesday, June 25, 2014 : I worked at the front desk receptionist with Natalie, the Duty Manager. I finished my work yesterday. I take all the correct invoices out of the folder and put them into a pile to match with the invoices. I classified the Accommodation Booking Form in a folder “booking form folder” by date. I send two confirmation emails. I filed documents (Manager Daily report and analysis) in the workbook "End of Day". I classified invoices with purchase orders in the corresponding folder "Delivery Notes". I welcomed the guests of the hotel. I take the customer’s orders to the kitchen. I distributed the brochures of the hotel guests. I put a letter of confirmation Accommodation adding brochures and invoice hotel in an envelope I wrote the address and I stuck a stamp. I recorded the day's mail in the book "post 2014".

Thursday, June 26, 2014 : I worked at the front desk receptionist with Natalie, the Duty Manager. I welcomed the guests to the hotel. I created my weekly report. I put a letter of confirmation Accommodation adding brochures and invoice hotel in an envelope I wrote the address and I stuck a stamp. I recorded the day's mail in the book "post 2014". My tutor Natalie and I took a bouquet of flowers to the room of a guest. I cut the leaves for restaurant food order. I classified the delivery notes by supplier name. I classified the chamber maids in the folder. I took souvenir photographs with staff. I thank Jane Bishop offering her a bouquet of flowers. I say goodbye to all the staff and I thanked her.

Today it is the last day in my company !!!! But I'm very happy because my company in France me missed :( ..


But in the school I have tasks and I write in the post for show my experience !!!

Hi everyone !

For our last post, Alice and I, decided to do it together.

- Checking bank details of host families;
 - Checking flags for international party on Thursday;
 - Announcing in each class the match of the evening and informations concerning the bar;
- Making photocopies;

- Creating and saving files to new host families in Word and PDF;
- Changing itinerary between host families and Churchill House;
- Checking the list of games in the social club;
- Making photocopies of brochure to creating information packs, for trips organized by the Social Club;
- Sending acceptance letter to future host families;
- Preparation of tea every hour to our manager, Sue Thompson and for Dawn Ansell.


We are sad to leave the Churchill House's staff because they were really nice with us.
It was a great experience, which has enabled us to improve our English.
We appreciated to speak with a lot of people, who come to different countries.

My tasks for my third week

Monday, June 16, 2014: I worked at the front desk receptionist with Natalie, the Duty Manager. I cut the prospectus of the hotel (papers for customer orders, paper invoices for customers and papers for restaurant food order). I welcomed the guests of the hotel and when I didn't understand what they said or I if I was not able to help I would tell them "I am very sorry but I am on work experience and do not understand, the receptionist Natalie will be back in a minute”.

Tuesday, June 17, 2014: I worked at the front desk receptionist with Miss Natalie, the Duty Manager. A customer asked me to search for an address and a telephone number of a car circuit. So I went on the site. But unfortunately I misunderstood his request. I thought he wanted a plan so I gave him a print. Nathalie my tutor intervened and i gave him a paper address and phone number of the circuit. She also called the circuit information for the client to ask questions. I made ​​the payment of a customer of the hotel by credit card. This is a special procedure to follow. First all I must type the amount that the customer must pay, then the number of the credit card, the expiration date of his credit card date confirm that the customer is not present, enter the security code his credit card, then the numbers of postal code and finally the number of the door. I press enter twice and two small bills kinds of electronic payment terminal. We give a copy to the customer and we keep one for us. In addition to the bills that we leave the ADS software. I took notes in order to make this work without making mistakes. I welcomed the guests of the hotel. I bring customer orders in the kitchen.

Wednesday, June 18, 2014: I worked at the front desk receptionist with Miss Natalie, the Duty Manager. I calculated the number of hours worked by employees of the hotel. I verified on their time sheets that calculates per day were correct and I calculated the total. This work was long but very interesting. I assembled all the bills yesterday (17.06.2014) for which payment was effected by credit card and I make the total amount. I wrote the date and amount on a paper I stack the meeting to order. I made a second verification in case of error. I loved doing this work. I learned how to record an order from a customer at the restaurant in the software called ADS. I registered in the ADS software customer orders that have eaten at the restaurant. I bring customer orders in the kitchen. I welcomed the guests of the hotel. I cut the paper to customer or I entered a room reservation on the software ADS. I make payment by credit card customer. I print the invoice and I created the confirmation letter (I did not send confirmation email because the client does not have email address). I put the letter in an envelope with the invoice and brochures of the hotel. I bring customer orders in the kitchen. I created two questionnaires of satisfaction for customers.

Thursday, June 19, 2014: I worked at the front desk receptionist with Miss Natalie, the Duty Manager. I got all the books menu (in the bar, restaurant and kitchen) and I get to the reception. Nathalie to print special menus for the evening tonight. I put the new menus in green menus books. I clean the books with a product and a cloth. I served a glass of lemonade to a customer. I cut papers for customer orders for the restaurant (paper dinner + paper for beverages etc.).I bring customer orders in the kitchen. I record the day's mail in the book "post 2014". I created two questionnaires of satisfaction for customers.


Friday, June 20, 2014: I worked at the front desk receptionist with Miss Natalie, the Duty Manager. I put a letter in an envelope I wrote the address and I stuck a stamp. I got all the books menu (in the bar, restaurant and kitchen) and I get to the reception. I took on all menus for special soiree last night (special menus with song Jazz). I cut the prospectus of the hotel (papers for customer orders, paper invoices for customers and papers for restaurant food order). I cut the leaves of paid employees. I bring customer orders in the kitchen. I record the day's mail in the book "post 2014". I filed documents (Manager Daily report and analysis) in the workbook "End of Day". I record the day's mail in the book "post 2014". I ended up creating two satisfaction questionnaires for customers.

My tasks for my third week in English in Margate

Hi everyone :) !


Durantly my third week in my company I make others tasks as :


Monday : - I verify the collection of teachers
                - I put the plastic paper on the new books


Tuesday : - I went in the tourism office in Margate for take the maps and brochures for the new students, for prepare the exits of the students, to propose places for visited, take the maps and mark places on the maps


Wednesday : - Distribute the papers for found new families in the Deal, for to go I take the train and after I walked. I go in Deal at 9.30 and I come back in the school at 16.00


Thursday : - I finished verification of the collection
                  - I put in the envelope the invoices for the families
                  - I go in the Gallery just near of the tourism office in Margate for to give the bus tickets for the students
                  - After I go in the tourism office for take more brochures and maps for the students
                  - I prepare more packs for the new students


Friday : - I put the plastic paper on the new books
             - I prepare the packs for the new students
             - I translate a demand of courses in French at English

Missions for my third week of training

For my third week of training, the website is completed in French and I started the English version is almost complete. I miss the pictures of the rooms, the work is not yet completed, I will put this weekend I hope.

I started to contact tour operators for them the address of the website.

My third week of work Kent School :
(almost the same as the other weeks)


All the days :

- From 8:45 to 9:00 : I welcome students and guides in their respective classrooms,
- From 9:00 to 9:30 : I go into every class to retrieve lists of absences,
- From 10:30 to 10:45 : I prepare the tea break and I serve tea and other goodies for teachers and students.

During the days :

- I prepare lessons and the materials (pictures, words...) teachers for next weeks,
- I go to the trainstation for to get train tickets for student activities in the afternoon,
- I sort alphabetically by host family the testimonials of students and class in files.
My second week :


During my first week I could see the various tasks I perform.

All the days :

- From 8:45 to 9:00 : I welcome students and guides in their respective classrooms,
- From 9:00 to 9:30 : I go into every class to retrieve lists of absences,
- From 10:30 to 10:45 : I prepare the tea break and I serve tea and other goodies for teachers and students.

During the days :

- I prepare lessons teachers for next weeks,
- Kent school leases buildings in the area, I was in charge of one of them to recover absences and provide information to teachers
- I go to the trainstation for to get train tickets for student activities in the afternoon,

  • checking itinerary on profiles for St Lawrence's Summer centres and changing if it's wrong ;
  • checking lists of new groups who come in June and July : student's name and host families and then regsiter in a new file, with the identification numbre of the group, group lists in Word document and host families' profiles in PDF ;
  • photocopies ;
  • preparing files to send to news host families, they have to fill the file ;
  • checking if host families correspond to students and then send email to agency ;
  • assessing the manager's needs (go to the shop to buy her lunch) ;
  • talking with people in the social club to improve my english ;
  • making tea.

I took the documents I scan last week and I have to "combine" in PDF format, then I have classified in a new folder on the computer.
